Server Downtime & Player Compensation

Pirates of the Burning Sea developers announced today that there will be server downtime both Tuesday, April 1st and Wednesday, April 2nd:

There will be a brief outage tonight from 1:30a Pacific until about 2a Pacific for flogger maintenance and to enable character transfers from the Live servers to Testbed. We will post detailed instructions when the feature is live. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience. We also apologize for the short notice.

We will be upgrading the servers during the usual maintenance window 1:30a - 3:30a Pacific on Wednesday April 2nd. During this time, we will be upgrading both Testbed and the Live clusters.

Additionally, it was announced that players will be compensated for the downtime that occurred last Friday, March 28th:

We realize that today's extended downtime was incredibly inconvenient for our community, and as a result we have decided to give each player some in-game items to compensate for the time that was lost. We know that these items can't replace the fun of actually playing the game during those hours, but we hope that they will lessen the blow.

The items are:

6 x Bonus Loot Book

This is a consumable item. For two hours (real-time, not game-time), it provides a +20% chance to get double loot.

6 x Bonus Experience Book

This is a consumable item. For two hours (real-time, not game-time), it increases experience gains by 20%.

These items will be delivered via a small patch on Wednesday morning, and will automatically appear in your inventory.

The announced in-game compensation will not show up in inventories until after Wednesday's server maintenance.
